- What We Do
CPYR’s Policies and Procedures
HONORARIUM: Since its founding in 1995, Crystal Peaks Youth Ranch speakers have never charged an honorarium for anything they do. We at CPYR believe that Jesus Christ has already paid the price of redemption in full. Therefore, the Word of God is free and should be affordable to all. We do ask that travel expenses to, from and during the event be covered. Donations are always gratefully accepted.
REPRESENTATIVES: For events that are more than 50 miles from the Ranch, our speakers always travel with an assistant. We may also choose to send a team of two or more to local venues, depending on the nature of the event.
AUTOMOBILE TRANSPORTATION: For events within driving distance of the Ranch, a 35-cent per mile fee will be requested for every mile traveled. Events within 50 miles are exempt.
PLANE TRANSPORTATION: We ask that the organization hosting the CPYR speaker pay airfare for both the requested speaker and their assistant. We also request that CPYR staff travel on commercial airlines.
RENTAL VEHICLES: If a rental car is required, it needs to be a full size vehicle or larger. This is to ensure the safety of our team as well as provide for the nature of events. The host organization however will only need to pay for the total expense of renting an “economy” class rental car and the ranch will cover the difference.
ACCOMMODATIONS: The CPYR Board requires accommodations to be provided at a well-established local hotel for both speaker and assistant.
MEALS: Food for CPYR representatives will be supplied by the Ranch. However, it would be expected that meals integrated into the event's itinerary would be provided by your organization free of charge.
OUR SYSTEM: The CPYR speaking coordinator will select and purchase all plane tickets, hotel rooms, and rental cars for the duration of the trip. It is our goal to be as transparent as possible when we arrange travel plans. Therefore, the speaking coordinator will brief the host organization of all expenses before purchasing airfares, hotel reservations and rental cars. After all purchases are made regarding the CPYR speaker’s travel, the CPYR coordinator will supply the host organization with the total cost of arrangements as well as receipts for each purchase. The host organization will be expected to reimburse the Ranch for specific expenses listed above.
