Boxcar Lodging

Crystal Peaks Youth Ranch offers a unique lodging experience to our out of town volunteers or Similar Ministry guests who are visiting the Ranch. The renovated vintage boxcar is located on the West Ranch property and will accommodate up to 6 guests. Situated next to a small pond and overlooking a hay field, the boxcar provides a quiet place of rest.

The boxcar includes a small main living area with a kitchen, a small dining table, a loveseat and chair, and a wood stove. The kitchen is equipped with a small refrigerator, microwave, hotplate, coffee maker, and a sink with running water. There is a bedroom on each end of the boxcar: the first bedroom has a queen bed (sleeps 2) and there are two bunk beds in the second bedroom (sleeps 4).

Although the boxcar is not equipped with a bathroom, a Porta-potty has been placed near it. We have also made restroom arrangements with Tumalo State Park (about a 10 minute drive from the Ranch). They have agreed to allow our boxcar guests to use their bathroom and shower facilities for a nominal fee of $2 per day.
