PR & Merchandise Coordinator
“Never in a million years did I see myself doing this!” I can’t tell you how many times in my life that I’ve said these words. Growing up just outside of Minneapolis, I had big dreams of working downtown in a tall building with a roomy office and a business-like wardrobe. A year after graduating high school, God rocked my world with a call leading me out of my comfort zone and away from the life I’d planned for myself. I moved to a tiny town in northern Colorado where I went from serving as a volunteer to a staff member for a similar ministry like Crystal Peaks. It was there I learned to love what I never knew existed. God had provided for me a place to love Him, love others, and grow into the woman He created me to be.
In 2012, I moved to Bend with very few expectations. I knew God was asking me to take another step of faith, and He wanted me to watch Him show up. I spent the first three years in Bend being very close to Crystal Peaks as I lived with a family who worked at the Ranch. I volunteered when I could, but spent most of my involvement praying for the Ranch and for the staff. In that season of my life, I was completely open to what God had for me next. I was praying for God’s will to open the doors for me to go wherever He would choose. To my surprise, He had me stay right where I was. The Ranch called and invited me to consider a position on staff. Within a few days, God spoke very clearly to my heart that I was exactly where He wanted me to be. The desires and passions the Lord had raised up in me have found a place to reside. I’m thankful for Crystal Peaks, and how God moves in and through this ministry.
What is your favorite thing about your job?
Goodness, there are so many things I love about my job at the Ranch. One of my favorite things in life is to see other people smile—I love those special times when God allows me to be a part of making that happen! I love the creativity of this place. I get to be a part of it every day as I explore more about what this place has to offer others. Also, I love to work with the community and my Ranch family. Serving with them through all that God is doing here is an incredible blessing!
What do you love about Central Oregon?
This is another tough question to narrow down. My absolute favorite thing about Central Oregon is the diversity that’s found within just a few miles of my home. I love to hike! Whether that means summiting a mountain or exploring a river trail...hiking out in God’s big playground feeds my soul!
What do you like to do in your free time?
In my free time, I love to explore! Sometimes that means enjoying hikes in the mountains and the wilderness. Other times, it means trying new hobbies or checking out small towns. I’m always up for a new adventure and seeing more of God’s creation through new perspectives.
