The foundation program of CPYR is unique in that it pairs one child, one horse and one leader one hundred percent of the time. No child is ever left behind or lost in a crowd. Our "one on one" learning environment is dedicated to restoring the heart, soul, mind, and strength of our kids. Each child is unique and separate, coming to the ranch for their own special needs. Those individuals needs are identified by the staff and a tailored course of action toward healing is created. This is faithfully accomplished for every child... free of charge.
Angels in Horsehair
Each day our horses greet dozens of children with a gentle spirit and willingness to help make many children's dreams come true. Many will expectantly wait at a gate for a touch from a child.
The horses at the ranch have become a family of rescued friends, our "angels in horsehair." For the majority of our "Equine Counselors," the ranch has become a safe haven, a retreat from a lifetime of abuse, neglect and hunger.
These gentle giants have known what it means to be without. They have struggled to simply survive. Without exception, some of our very best horses are those we have rescued from horrific abuse and/or neglect.
Our horses have become trusted friends and family to thousands of children who come to the ranch. Every child has a favorite. Many horses have hundreds of children that call them their own. They have come from a life of incredible hardship to become the healing instrument in a child's life.
