Every once in a while a special gift comes along that stirs the soul and takes your breath away. Recently, the ranch was given a hand-crafted saddle that did exactly that. We wish to extend a special thanks to Stephen Harper of Harper’s Saddlery for this unique gift.
In numerous years of working with horses, this was the first time we had ever seen a saddle with such staggering craftsmanship. Adorned with solid brass and sterling silver, the hand-tooled leather is full flowered stamped with an oak leaf design. The 15½ inch seat is built on a wade tree with an in skirt riggin. It was no surprise to us at all that it took over 100 hours to build…with countless hours poured into it to ensure each detail was correct.
Stephen Harper is a man with a gift. And it was out of love for Crystal Peaks Youth Ranch that he shared his priceless creation with us.
We wish to share this with you all, and to extend our deepest gratitude to this incredibly generous man. Thank you, Mr. Harper, from all of us at Crystal Peaks, for your kindness.
