Why you felt or feel called to Crystal Peaks: My first response, when I realized that God was calling me to the ranch was “There is no way!” Having never really been away from home for any amount of time, I was completely terrified by the thought of leaving all that I knew behind. I used just about every excuse I could think of to try to work my way out of it, but God had a different plan and He wasn’t about to let me off so easily. “Will you trust me?” that was the question the Lord asked me, over and over. I’m learning that trusting God is a choice we have to make, a choice that when the storms in life come, can be difficult. But it is when we choose to trust Him in those times, that we are able to attest to His faithfulness in our lives.

Although I love both kids and horses, I know that God only used them as a means to bring me to the ranch. The longer I’m here the more God has made it clear that it’s not about kids and horses. What it is about is sharing your story, testifying to the work of God in your life, and sharing who Christ is and His amazing love for us.

Areas of Ministry on the Ranch (what you do on the ranch on a regular basis?): I spend most of my time with kids, teaching one on one sessions using horses as a tool to share the love of Christ, yet my job is in no way limited to that! In a day I may teach sessions, help with horses, work in the office or help out with any random project on the ranch that may need to be accomplished.

Favorite thing about CPYR or about being here: That in all things Christ is the center; He is the cornerstone of this ministry, Christ is the foundation on which everything we do is built upon. I love that the ranch is about so much more than just kids and horses; it’s about the power of the living God at work in the lives of ordinary people.

What do you do in your freetime: I love to spend my freetime with friends (which for me generally includes coffee!). I also like to ride horses, play my violin, hangout in quaint coffee shops, especially when I have a good book to read!

Favorite Ice Cream: That’s hard to say, there are LOTS of good ones! Since I LOVE ice cream it’s hard for me to choose a favorite. Pretty much anything with chocolate is good!

Likes (what do you like in life, food, movies, etc.): Let’s see….I love water (waterfalls, the ocean, lakes, rivers, they’re all good!), starry skies, ridding horses, camping, long walks through the woods, rain showers, spending time with friends, road trips, music (making it and listening to it), snow, cooking, watching the sunrise/sunset, the changing of the seasons, visiting family, coffee (I love coffee!), photos, flowers, deep conversations and good food!

One unique/funny fact about yourself: When I was seven my parents gave me pony that was 32 years old for Christmas!
