Why you felt or feel called to Crystal Peaks: The ministry at Crystal Peaks combines my love for Christ, kids and horses in a way that makes my heart come alive. The Lord used horses in my life as a teen when I greatly needed healing and I am so thankful to be able to give back what was given to me.
Areas of Ministry on the Ranch (what you do on the ranch on a regular basis): I am privileged to work (play) with kids and horses part-time, along with working in our Development Office on event planning, fundraising & grant writing, Horse Sponsorships, and our newsletters, among other items. I also have the opportunity to mentor and encourage our long-term volunteer girls.
Favorite thing about CPYR or about being here: The family – in a world desperate for community, this ranch extends its arms to all and welcomes them in. I also love watching those who come to this place deepen their relationship with the Lord in a way that impacts their entire life and those around them.
What do you do in your free time: I enjoy spending time with friends, Starbucks, traveling, cooking, games nights, reading, drawing closer to the Lord and enjoying this season the Lord has blessed me with.
Favorite Ice Cream: Something with chocolate – and caramel – or raspberry (but not caramel & raspberry together… eww)
Likes (what do you like in life, food, movies, etc.): I enjoy honest and deep conversation over coffee, coffee in general, good friends with yummy meals (especially anything Italian), exploring the Lord’s beautiful creation, traveling and road trips, worship music, my kitten, backpackinging around Europe, lacrosse, flip-flops, the ocean, organization and the idea of gardening... I just lack the time to keep green things alive and cared for.
One unique/funny fact about yourself: Apparently I use a lot of sound effects and hand motions when I can’t think of the correct word – or so my roommates tell me!
